Two masters of Brazilian music, Cláudio Jorge and Guinga celebrate decades of friendship and partnership in the show "Farinha do Mesmo Saco" — also the title of their first album together. Guitarists, singers, and composers from Rio de Janeiro, they revisit memories of the suburbs through sambas and choro-songs filled with lyricism and refinement. Cláudio, raised in Cachambi and a longtime collaborator of Nei Lopes and João Nogueira, brings melodic flair and rhythmic drive. Guinga, born in Madureira and raised between Vila Valqueire and Jacarepaguá, showcases his unmistakable guitar style and deeply affectionate melodies. The show features new songs like Domingueira and Bom Bocad, alongside gems such as Minha Alma Suburbana and Chorando Pelos Dedos. The performance takes place at Leão Etíope do Méier, a cultural movement founded in 2014 that transformed Praça Agripino Grieco into a vibrant hub of resistance and celebration of suburban culture. With its free, diverse programming, Leão highlights the artistic and political strength of Rio's North Zone — perfectly aligned with the MIMO Festival’s mission to celebrate cultural diversity and reoccupy historical territories with music and art.
