RIO DE JANEIRO
FROM CIRCO VOADOR TO THE OUTSKIRTS: MIMO TURNS RIO INTO A GLOBAL STAGE
Since 2015, the MIMO Festival has taken over iconic locations in Rio, such as Parque Lage, Praça Paris, Marina da Glória, Fundição Progresso, and historic churches — transforming the city into a setting for unforgettable encounters between music and heritage.
MIMO returns to Rio de Janeiro with a vibrant and free program, reaffirming its commitment to artistic diversity and democratic access to culture. In its 8th edition in the city, it promises four days of intense activity, bringing together renowned artists and new talents, both Brazilian and international.
Circo Voador, one of Brazil's most emblematic cultural venues, located in the heart of downtown Rio in Lapa, will be the main stage, hosting two nights of concerts. MIMO will also occupy historical sites of great symbolic and architectural value, such as the Church of Santa Cruz dos Militares. The program expands into the North Zone, highlighting the power of the outskirts and reinforcing the festival’s commitment to inclusion and plurality, with performances and activities at the Jovelina Pérola Negra Cultural Arena (Pavuna) and the Dicró Cultural Arena (Penha).
With a curatorship that values artistic excellence and cultural exchange, the event offers the public free access to concerts, film sessions, workshops, and discussions at the Fórum de Ideias — connecting neighborhoods, communities, and cultural centers while celebrating the richness of music and the arts.
More than a festival, MIMO is a convergence of cultures, ideas, and sounds — a true feast for the senses that turns the city into a vibrant and multicultural showcase. For four days, Rio de Janeiro will pulse to the rhythm of the world.

Soon.
